Referal and psych eval.

Hi there, hope you're all ok and had a good christmas and new year =]

I'm just looking for some advice really. My counsellour has recommended that I go for a psychological evaluation, as she is concerned about the voice in my head (I also self harm) and we will be writing a letter of referal to my GP on Monday.

I was just wondering what happens when you go for a psych eval? What kinda stuff do they ask you?

Well in a word, everything. basically they'll ask you about your home life, family, friends, job/school, background, past, lot's of kind of screening question for different illnesses..it gets a bit tedious and you might feel like you're repeating yourself, but it's just so they can understand what's going on and decide how best to help you. :)
