bit worried

i just got a new job, which i am so happy about. i am a healthcare assistant in mental health and i love it. but my new job has a uniform, which is short sleeved. and i am worried that i will not be allowed to wear something under the top, something long sleeved, under the uniform. most of my scars are old and now white but still visible. i'm worried that they will not let me work there, or that people will comment. just scared, i know there's not much you can say

I think if you're that worried, then you should talk to your supervisor and find out if you can wear something underneath it. Best bet i think

I agree with Jess. I hope it works out for you. I doubt you are the first person to have to deal with this issue in the MH profession.

I think you should find out if you are allowed to wear something underneath too, you could make up another reason as to why if you don't want to disclose the real reason. I think I would be just as worried in the same situation so can understand your concern. I really shouldn't think that they would disallow you to work just because you want to make a slight alteration to the uniform and they may even have a long sleeved version.

Have you had a chance to talk to your boss about it yet? Hope things go well.
