The snow

So, it's snowing on the main site and journals etc...which is lovely, but is there any way of switching it off?

For some reason it makes my laptop go WTFISGOINGONSNOW?!?!?!? and then it refuses to work. Which is a tad annoying. =[

So, if it can't be switched off, when does the weather take a turn for the better?

i dont think it can be switched off but it definitely is a very temporary thing. Harley had originally said just christmas eve/day but obviously thats been extended a bit.

That is very strange, it shouldn't have any affect on your computer like that....

i have seen no snow. how typical for Harrogate. probably because the internet road gritters don't work properly up here. *sigh*.

Probably something to do with how the page loads to encorporate it.

Erm, I don't think so, Amy.

It's only on the main site, though, so you could bookmark the forums & chat so that the snow doesn't affect your laptop? I have the forums bookmarked, so if I didn't know it was snowing on the main site I wouldn't have discovered it myself!

I'm sorry I'm with Amy, it is lovely but it's driving me insane, my head either wont let it settle or I have to open a new tab and go to forums on that and wait for it to slow and settle at the bottom of the page (kind of the OCD inside of me) x

It would fall in a different direction according to where your mouse was so you could make it move about if you wanted.

It has now (sadly or not!) stopped snowing on the main site, and so fun as it was that is that until next year :)

I'm convinced when I went on it about 10mins ago it had slowed right down (maybe that was just as Harls was turning it off?)! It's probs just my imagination though
