Can't get Chat to Open

I can't get chat to open. I've tried turning off pop up, and no dice. I've never used the app before, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I use Firefox, but I've got IE, and I tried opening it in there too. Any suggestions?

I had this before my firefox just totally stopped all pop ups for no reason and my ie woulldnt open any sorta clicky links so in the end i redownloaded FF and updated IE and it worked but i couldnt add things to my ff else it would break again ¬_¬

It's the special character in your username. i.e. the apostrophe means you can't enter due to the problem with chat and these special characters. Maybe change your username without special characters or set up another account specifically for chat? (:

i can't either. :( i have before, and one the few times in a LONG time i wanna go on there it keeps saying invalid input.

Could you maybe set up a chat account? Like it was suggested? Or maybe PM James and ask if you can just take those two special characters out so you can use chat? I'm sure he won't mind :)

... Or, guys, you can always request a username change if you don't want to set up a new account.

I doubt it's the apostrophe in your name Shakespeare's Trumpet, but then it might be. o_O That would be pretty silly, though.

I just set up a new account. I thought for a moment about taking the apostrophe out, but it would KILL me to do that unless everything was lower case and squished together. But then, I wouldn't want to run around the forum and be grammatically incorrect. I can only do that in chat.

I'm having to same problem. The stupid chat won't open anymore, but I had gotten it to work in the past. It just comes up as a blue screen.

Help?

I'm going to try it again and hope it works this time, but I doubt it will. *off to try the darn chat*

Yeah, it works in the new account, without any of the special characters, so I'm fairly certain that the apostrophe was causing the issue.

Try reloading the chat page a couple times if it doesn't come up. It worked for me.
