Volunteering on Christmas Day/Over the holiday period.

Anyone else going to/want to do this?

I'm trying to sort something out as I'd really like to help with something, but I have no idea where to start looking/if I've left it too late?

So, bit of advice on where to start looking, plus general experiences of people that have volunteered over the Christmas period/comments/take this thread on a massive tangent etc

I haven't ever volunteered on christmas day or much around the holiday period, but I guess homeless shelters would be a good place to start looking.

I imagine they get really busy around christmas time, and would be looking for people to help out in the kitchen maybe?

I emailed the Salvation Army a few weeks ago asking if I could volunteer but they never bloody replied! Charming.

Catteries and Kennels are often busy this time of year and can use all the help they can get. I wanted to volunteer at my local cattery but there were already enough people.
Also, I'm not sure if this is a possibility but you may be able to visit children in hospital, bring some treats, some fun, brighten up their holidays. I'm guessing that would take a while to organise though.

Me and a friends are volunteering in kennels over the new year which will be great as miss ruby said they get so busy.

I know in london they have soup kitchens but i think you would already had to apply by now sos not much help good luck merry christmas luv jad
