Yet another weird med!
Last time I was put on a medication (lofepramine) very few people had heard of it or been on it.
Today I've been put on Sulpiride, which is another one I haven't heard of. I did a post search and found only one mention of it on the whole of RYL, and that was just in a list of antipsychotics.
So has anyone been on it? If so what were your experiences? Did it help? Were there horrific side effects?
I have read the patient information on it, I'm just curious to hear what other people have thought.

its different to amisulpiride.
ive seen it quite a bit but doesnt tend to be as popular as some others. your psych must have his/her reasons for choosing it though.

I've been on it, one of my preferred antipsychotics as it happens. Still like being hit over the head with a brick, though nearly all the antipsychotics seem to have sedative effects on me.
I found it to be rather effective in preventing unwanted thoughts and reducing paranoia and suchlike however I had to stop using it because of hyperprolactinaemia causing lactation.
Good luck with it anyway.

Thanks for your replies, it's helpful to know other's experiences.
Lactation really hope I don't have that side effect.
Went to the chemist and picked it up today, kind of a bit worried as weight gain is listed as a side effect. I know it says that with most meds, but none of my other's have also said "this gain may be quite large in some cases" >.<

Yikes lol. Well I hope you don't get any bad side effects.
Can I just ask, did you not find the lofepramine at all helpful? I know different tablets help different people, but I'm on three lofepramine tablets a day and I'm really not sure if it's helping, yet at the same time I'm scared to come off to try something else, in case it is having some positive effect. Did you ask for your medication to be changed, or did your doctor recommend it?

I'm still on the lofepramine, I take 3 tablets as well.
I'm not entirely convinced it's working but my doctor wants me to try it a little longer to see. My doctor reccommended the new med to help take the edge off my anxiety and to try and help me with my phobia.
