Paranoid Schizophrenia
I was recently discharged from psychiatric hospital, after having spent seven months there on a Section Three (and am currently in the process of being Sectioned again). I have been admitted to hospital twice before, both voluntarily and involuntarily, and was diagnosed with depression. I have now been given a new diagnosis: Paranoid Schizophrenia.
I was wondering how others diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia coped with being given such a label, and if they have any information on the illness itself, or the medication used to treat it – I have been on Olanzapine, Quetiapine, and my current prescription is Clozapine and Amisulpride – or any advice or experiences to offer me, either through a reply to this thread, or, if you prefer, a PM.

I have paranoid schizophrenia. I was shocked and scared when I got the diagnosis, but it helped to answer a lot of questions. I've been on four medications in the past, none of which worked in the long run. This led to a new diagnosis of treatment-resistant schizophrenia, so they put me on Clozapine. I'm in hospital voluntarily atm. According to a letter written by my doctor, I have "auditory hallucinations, visual hallucinations, paranoia and persecutory delusions". If you want to know more, reply to this thread, I am using my mobile (very limited internet access in hospital) which doesn't cope well with reading PMs, so I can't receive PMs on my mobile. I am happy to answer any questions you have.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

Hiya, I am also diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia. My psychiatrist recently said I was not well and with paranoia so he changed my meds from Amisulpride to Abilify. It's strange living with this diagnosis because I don't understand it properly to be honest. People are always saying that things aren't real and to me they are talking out of their arses. Before the p.sz diagnosis I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder because my moods were fluctuating so much.
