Appointment
So...I recently moved house, registered at a new doctors and my GP referred to a mental health clinic nearby for "assessment." Whatever that means.
I'm sort of new at all this. I had one session of counselling when I was 13 and never went back...
I'm just wondering what sort of thing to expect. Will they have my notes, or I will I have to explain it all for them? Will they ask me loads of questions, or will I be expected to just talk?
I'm really worried about it all, and almost thinking that maybe I just shouldn't go and I've made a huge mistake...

i think it is good you are going. Although they will have the referral from your doctor and have some sort of idea they will ask you questions. It's about finding out how it is best to help you so they need to talk to you and find out what is going on. Try not to worry about it too much, try writing down things to get it straight in your head.
Mostly they will ask you questions to try and build a picture but again don't be worried.

They will already have some information on you as your GP will have included reasons for the referral.
But I would imagine in the assessment they will want to hear from you what your struggles are. They will probably ask lots of questions to get a better idea of how they can help you. They wont expect you just to talk, they will guide you through what they want to know (and if they ask you something you aren't comfortable talking about, just tell them that).
Don't worry about it, it's not a mistake. At least have the assessment, then you can voice any concerns you might have with them and they can talk things through with you.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.
