I don't even know why I am really posting this. For a long time now I have been going to the doctors about despression, I was eventually diagnosed bipolar, thing is I haven't told my GP or doctor some things they should probably know.
I have an appointment tomorrow with my GP for something else I want to talk to them about, but this has really been playin on my mind. I have food and weight issues andI don't know wether to tell them or not. Thing is I don't really think it matters much anyway, so that's why I don't know why I'm posting this, blah. And I don't even know why this is being like this, I suppose I know I should be better than I am but I also know ...
Actually I just don't know anything anymore, thing is even if I do decide to say something to my GP I think I'll chicken out anyway. I think it's only really because my friends are concerned that I've been thinking about it.
Thanks if you read this
I don't know if i need a label on this so shout if i do
Thanks again
My advice (in a kinda do as I say not as I do kinda way - because I'm ***** at talking to people so totally understand what you mean) would be to tell them everything you can - that way hopefully you will get the support/help you need in its entirity!
I'm happy to hear you have friends that are concerned and care, although I don't know how much they understand or how helpful they are? It's good to have their care and support just the same.
I agree that though it is hard to talk about, you should at least tell your doctor. That is information that needs to be shared there.
As for your gp...if you can get the courage that will be great. But go at your own pase. Maybe you will share a little at a time. The fact that its on your mind means that you are wanting to share it or get it out in some way and I also agree that the more support you can get for yourself, the better.
*hugs*
You are being very brave just thinking about all this, trying to sort it out, and trying to get up the courage to talk about it.
Thank you everyone.
I worte a letter and you never guess what? My appointment was cancelled, but my GP phoned me and I was gonna try read the letter but like i knew it wouldn't come out. But I did manage to tell her that I had a letter, so she said to bring it down to her and mark it personal and she will read it and she rearranged my appointment for me.
So I got an appointment for next week. I'll let you all know how it goes.
I can imagine that took a lot of courage. It took alot for me to write a letter to my CPN this summer to start spilling re the voices, thoughts, destructiveness, etc. However, I reckon it has been a turning point. I feel more able to speak to the mh peeps. I hope this is the same for you!
*hugs*

So I went to my GP, tried to change the topic right away but she wasn't havinng any of it. I felt that I couldn't really talk but she was patient with me and waited. She decided she is going to send me to a CBT cousellor and in the meantime she wants me to eat a least one piece of fruit a day!! Actually I find that funny but she says it's to strengthen my immune system so I suppose that's a good thing.
So I have a question does anyone have any experience of CBT? I would like to know what to expect but if nobody does thats ok.
CBT i find has been very effective.
be open and honest and they will be able to offer the best sort of help for you. massive congratulations on finding the courage to give the leter to your doctor and have a chat about it sxxx
Re eating better, is also quite sensible advice. Certain foods (esp fruit and veg) have essential vitamins etc that also aid boosting your mood. I remember a psych once advising this. It does actually help.

Thank you everyone for supporting me. If it weren't for here I may never of had the courage to confront anyof my problems. Just want to let you all know I'm very grateful.
