Triggering (ED) - Anti-psychotics to help OCD

I've been on 50mg quetiapine since March. It's not helping anymore or perhaps my OCD is getting worse again. Either way I'm struggling. I take quetiapine at night to help me sleep and the sedation reduces my night rituals. My psych doesn't want me to take more than 50mg at night and suggested olanzapine (I've already been on risperidone). Has anyone take this for OCD? Did it help? I'm worried about the weight gain (I have an ED) so I need to weigh up (no pun intended!) the pros and cons. If olanzapine doesn't specifically help OCD then I don't see the point of changing just for the sake of it.

Thanks!

I used to take Amisulpiride after unsuccessfully being on risperadone and refusing olanzapine for weight reasons, Amisulpiride really helped and I had no weight gain, I think it's meant to be the best one for no weight gain.

Have you tried Clomipramine? That saved my life with ocd. It's meant to be the best for ocd also, might be worth a mention.

alotof anti depressants specifically SSRI's are supposed to be good in managing OCD symptoms and arenot usually associated with weight changes. Maybe thats somethingyou can discuss with your psych?

Thanks. I'm on an anti-depressant (citalopram) but they don't want to increase it as my mood is unstable. Although I'm on a mood stabiliser also, I started to get hypomanic. They're messing about a bit and I'm not very happy.

I know this is my thread and it's old but I was told something useful. I spoke to my psychiatrist and CPN who changed me on to olanzapine. It's not really working but I'm trying to give it time, I might end up back on quetiapine as that helped more than this. Apparently, at low doses they prescribe atypical anti-psychotics for anxiety and sleep.
