sub board: fear, phobias and anxiety?

Hi,
as far as I remember from old discussion, the team don't want to split the board even more but I would appreciate it veeery much if you can add a new sub board "fear, phobias and anxiety".

I suffer from many different mental illnesses but one of them are phobias and they control big parts of my life and I don't know how to post about it.
If you post something about it in the mental health board or the serious board, threads disappear quickly to page 2,3,... and don't get many answers and it isn't easy for people with phobias and anxiety to support each other well (well, at least that's my impression).
Furthermore, not everyone wants to start her/ his own thread in the mental health board, I guess, but if there was a bigger place for these topics, you could start your own threads for each little problem concerning fear.
But from reading posts, it's obvious that many users suffer from things like that, so I guess it would be a nice idea to give it more space here.

What do you think about it?

xxx,
Judith

I think that the Mental Health discussion and support board is the best place for these threads, and I don't think that there would be enough of them to support an independent forum.

I have a few phobias myself and they do affect my life quite a lot at the moment. But whenever I have posted a thread on them anywhere on RYL I've always recieved plenty of replies with helpful advice. Phobias are a fairly common, general problem, it's not like you need any specialist knowledge to help someone with a phobia. I don't think there is a need for a separate board for it on RYL.

A lot of MH discussion does tend to be about meds, but I think it's important to grow and expand the current boards we have rather than to just keep adding new ones.

Why not create a thread for people to talk about their phobias?
Some of the one's on the mental health board have becoming incredibly successful and had some really interesting discussions going and lots of support and advice offered, such as the borderline personality disorder thread and the dissociative distress thread. To me that seems a much better setup than having a whole board for it.

I hope no one minds but I've just made a thread specifically for phobias in the MH forum. Good thinking :) OOh, and I can change the title to phobias and anxiety if that's better?

I think posting them in Mental Health Discussion is fine. No need to create subforums for every thing.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…
