My Tailbone is Dislocated...looking for sympathy, i Reckon...

about 6 months ago, i was playing with Kaleb on the floor. i fell back on my tailbone and i felt a sharp pain and a "pop". but it felt ok for a while after that.
but since then, its been giving me trouble. ive gotten severe lower back pain. and moving from a sitting position to a standing position is excruciating.

i cleaned house all day yesterday and last night it was unbearable.

we went to the ER.
they did x-rays. we found out that my tailbone is dislocated!!! its been this way for months!!!

i have to get copies of my x-rays and take them to my doc, who will do an MRI. the ER doc said the treatment, such as surgery were risky as mine is directly at the end of my spine.

im a little worried....but it'll be ok.

tomorrow Kaleb has the surgery on his teeth. we're all a nervous wreck. we have to leave here at about 4"45am to have him there by 6am. uggghhh.

anyhow...just want some snugglies or something.
oh, and if anyone else has had this problem before, let me know how it turned out. it's not broken, but dislocated. basically, IF they do surgery, they will go in and cut part of the bone that is dislocated and leave the rest, if they cant get a portion of it, they will take the whole thing.....whine.

love to all.

Ouchie. I'd offer to rub it better but any physical contact with it would be riddled with innuendo regardless of my good intentions so I shall simply say I really hope they can fix it. I don't really have any experience I'm afraid.

I bruised my tailbone when a "friend" pulled a chair out from underneath me when I was a teenager. It absolutely wrecked - the whole can't breathe I'm in that much pain kind of wrecked. Much sympathy being sent your way! *hugs*

omg Deanna!!!
eeek.
now im really scared.
i scheduled a doc appt. for thursday. im sure he'll want an MRI. i HATE those.
and im worried he will refer me to an orthopedic if hes going to do that...id rather just go on to the orthopedic now instead of having to wait.

i DONT want surgery because im going to HAVE to have the breast reduction and i just had a tumor removed last year. im tired of surgery!!! broke my jaw a few years ago..surgery!!!

but if it will help...then im for it...because its doing nothing but getting worse. i thought with time...it would improve, but its the opposite. and the lower part of the right side of my back is awful too....and im wondering if the dislocation is to the right and its pressing on those nerves or something.

im really sad today. it may sound stupid but oh well. today is our presidential election....and it hit me like a rock when i realized this is the first year my father doesnt get to vote. stupid but sad.

love to all.

my grandma(mom's mother) brought up my childhood today on the phone. i talked a little but its triggered me. uggghhh.

going to listen to some music and try to turn my mood around.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your tailbone but just thought I'd let you know that sometimes it can be manipulated back into place. This is done under GA and I'm not sure you really want to know any more, only it involves a hand and a latex glove :-s

eek...hand and latex glove *shivers*

saw my doc today...referred to orthopedic.
was given strong pain meds and muscle relaxers.
apparently any treatment is "risky" because its part of the spine....

gotta wait till the 20th to see orthopedic.

im really down tonight.
today is 1 year and 3 months since my dad passed.

and i feel like ive lost alot of friends here.
i still have GREAT friends. just feel alot have disappeared or just quit talking to me etc...

i dont feel "at home" here anymore.
maybe its because i dont reply to many of you guys anymore. im really sorry for that.

as my therapist put it "im maxed out as far as giving". thats what he said. and i guess hes right. ive exhausted myself. but still feel like **** for not being more active here.

im just sorry.

thanks bunches manda.
but ****...i cant open the file because its a pdf or something...grrrr.

i researched alot....and i havent found where its the same. because if it were broken , it would heal on its own. its been over 6 months now and it seems to be getting worse daily.

from what i know by researching and talking to the docs...its going to depend on the extent of the dislocation as to whether they remove my tailbone or just physical therapy. now im just waiting to see the orthopedic who will order an MRI and i hate those things!!! and i'll have to lie straight on my back with my legs straight out. i could barely do that for the xray!!! so im scared. i'll be taking muscla erelaxers and pain meds beforehand.

im just ready to stop hurting.
this combined with flashbacks= a very sore, upset, and cranky Rachel.

miss you manda.
loves.

Hi, I didnt dislocate my tailbone but I did break it and I had to learn to walk again.

Im not sure what type of surgical procedure the surgeons will do and I dont think its very helpful to you to speculate but what I wanted to say is that it is possible that you will make a full recovery.

I still have back problems BUT I can walk again. Try not to fear the worst unless you have to. Speculating things does you no good. Wait till you have a prognosis from a doctor/surgeon and then move on from there.

*hugs and sympathy*

Hope this helped a wee bit.
