Tragus
I had my tragus pierced this afternoon as a reward for not having a chaotic episode type thing whilst housemate was away on holiday this week. Didn't hurt and isn't even throbbing like my other cartilage piercings but is sore when face moves in certain way or bend down. However, it's there, I am so aware of it and it feels as though I need to scratch and pull at it - arghhhhhhhhhh, need to distract myself so typing is my current method. Any ideas?

Even as the stone of the fruit must break that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

Arghhh, love it but really, really want to scratch. I find salt soaks so messy on my ear - much easier on navel piercing. I'm going to let it be until tomorrow because if I try to soak this evening I am only going to end up fiddling too much. I do really like it though. What I like best though is when I go to court (for work, before anyone says anything) and the metal detectors are set off. I'm tempted to get a naughty piercing done just to see people's faces when the wand goes off in a random place (they wand you if machine bleeps, which it always does for girls anyway because of heels)

hey
I had my tragus done about 2 years ago now. I fiddled with it lots and got a lil bump come out on top of it and so used tea tree stuff from body shop that got rid of it. What type of earring do you have in it? A friend of mine had a bar and that caused her face to really hurt so she had a hoop put in it instead and it cleared up and is fine. Once its totally healed you can put anything in it e.g. stud, hoop, bar etc.

He put in a hoop as although it is a little oversized it will give it more room to swell - had a problem with a cartilage pierrcing earlier this year when it swelled to the point where stud disappeared/embedded and had to take it out and leave it to heal. He said if it caused any problems or wanted it to be checked out just to come back to him - he is really good, has done a few of my piercings this year. Although it is sore when face moves in certain way (not figured out wuite which way yet), it is only momentarily. It has been fine. I thought it would hurt but it hasn't.

sounds entirely normal to me. Keep it clean with sea salt solution and try not to fiddle - don't use anything else on it, salt water is best.

I have 20 piercings and have never gone off in a metal detector.
add around 1/4 a teaspoon of sea salt ( not table salt as that contains iodine) to boiling mug of water, wait for it to cool.Using a cotton wool pad or bud to dab on to the piercing. If the piercing is irratated add a drop of tea tree oil into the salt soak.
Do not turn the jewellery as it will damage the skin around the piercing

Can't believe you haven't gone off in a metal detector! It is often my heels but even go off when heels without metallic insert.
Thanks for the tips!
