I'm wondering what actually constitutes bullying? I know like deliberately attacking another member, backstabbing/backbiting and all that are. But waht else? Can making an obscure post bitchng but not mentioning any names (i've use to do this occasionaly, but not anymore)? Replying to a post and (without actually MENTIONING that person) pick someones reply to pieces?
Questions?? Discussions?
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
I think knowingly doing anything that will upset another person is bullying. Whether it be hitting someone, insulting them or purposely saying something you know will upset them. Like, for example, there was this girl I knew who's father had basically left them. The people that bullied her would always bring up fathers and things relating to it just to upset her. Poor thing, it hurt her so much. I really think that's the worse kind, because it's so personal and hits such a tender nerve.
Making specific posts having certain members in mind, knowing they will most probably become distressed/upset, is something i believe is of a bullying nature.
I'd consistute quite a lot in regards to bullying, actually. So i could be all day listening issues.
what about when someone says they're triggered by something and people start talking about it all the time and say that becasue othrs aren't triggered by it it shouldn't matter? or is that just the same thing... lol

Good to know private matters are being kept that way.
I think it depends as to why people are "purposely triggering" people in the first place. There's often an underlying reason as to why someone goes that far, so i couldn't comment without knowing peoples certain situations, as i hate to be close minded and judgemental like that.

100% yes. Planning the attack is terrible.
Laura, I definately hear what you say about there often being a reason... but that doesn't give anyone the right. Tell us, the Mods and we will do what we can -even banning people if they completely overstep the mark. We honestly do want to protect you.
I don't think a reason can ever justify it fully. It's a bit like murder [intense!] You could murder someone because they murdered your sibling... but that wouldn't make it right or legal, but I could empathise with them.

laura you said....'making specific posts having certain members in mind knowing they will most proably become distressed/upset' that is planning is it not? Thats what Chloe meant.
There are times to stay put, and what you want will come to you.
But there are times to go out into the world and find such a thing for yourself.
I aint no abacus but you can count on me.
This is what i mean about "privacy" being just that.
And thankyou, Chloe, for aiming your comment directly towards me. Very much appreciated. :)
Guilty conscience much? I didn't direct it at you - clearly it's a coincidental conversation.
I did however feel the following comment insinuated planning:

Well, when is it NOT personal when i'm involved?
Erk.
It's just a trouble starting thread, which isn't necessary. It won't gain anything, personal digs are had, paranoia starts, the backstabbing goes on. It's all unnecessary.
Meh.
Nothing aimed towards you Chloe.
M'Sorry for snapping.
However, given the circumstances, and with paranoia being a massive problem of mine, it's not exactly possible for me to not believe the ongoing comments of this thread aren't personal attacks.
If someone needs bullying clarified.... it's good that they post. If they do it to directly offend someone then it's not good anymore. It depends on the OP intentions I think... which neither your nor I will know.
As for making sure things aren't personal.... I think that's a little unfair. My comments weren't directed at you, but just so happened to link with a particular situation. Thus, I was being professional... it was just a conicidence.
Thanks for your apology re: snapping. Accepted.
