Old Threads.

Hey guys.
So i know we are not allowed to post in old threads....but how old is old?
Like how long weeks? months? years?
Anyone have any idea...hmm

Tah.

Generally threads that haven't been posted on in about a month are considered old, to the extent that we'd rather not have people bumping them.

Most of the time, though, it's why a thread was bumped. If there seems to be a good, valid, obvious reason then it's normally okay and all's fine, but if a thread's old and is just posted on randomly... well, that's when the objections start.

Hope that makes some sense, x

I see it in your eyes

I'm guessing it depends on thread contents. Replying to a support thread that is months old is unlikely to be useful and will knock threads people currently need advice on off the front page. However if it was a thread in reviews and reccommendations on a particular artist then it would be appropriate to ressurect an old thread.

I guess just use your discretion as to when it is appropriate

Yeah, just like Heidi said, it kind of depends on where it is. A thread in Reviews or News and Debates could be bumped after a month and I don't think there would be an issue.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

yeah like the others have said i think its depends on content, or what forum posted in.

reviews and reccomendations obviously it would be better to revive an old thread and add to it rather than make another one.

i think with support ones though, it would be pretty pointless, as the thread has been discussed and plus the situation would no longer be the same so the thread starter wouldnt appreciate it being bumped.

i think personally id freak slightly if old posts i had made got bumped
