Do I tell them about the possible risk or not? Please answer quick. *RESOLVED*

My Voices have got violent. They're telling me to throttle the consultant tomorrow and they're telling me to attack the nurses and smash the windows. They're pretty insistent on this. I'm trying to blast them out with the Fight Song, but I am genuinely afraid that I will be violent tomorrow. Some of the nurses are Mindreaders so I have to attack them in self-defence. I'm trying to get out of this ward, so do you think that I should tell a nurse about what the Voices are saying or should I keep quiet so as not to jeopardise my discharge? I've just written a page of really violent sickness that if anyone sees I will be sectioned.

PM me if you want a PDF copy of the ICD-10 or the Mental Health Act 1983/2007. I ALSO HAVE THE DSM-V BOOK and am a pharmacology student.

I have a visual impairment / neurological problems so I need people to type in clear text and no funny fonts. Also excuse any typos, my vision blocks things out.
I have autism and have problems communicating, PMs included.
Just becasue I type well doesn't mean I speak well. I am only part time verbal.

In short [as im worried you will have to go offline] Oly please tell them.i know this is hard but if you cant distract or get rid of the voices etc you need to tell them.Hurting someone tomoro will jepoaridise your discharge and chances in life much much more than if you speak out.Please.

i do not always manage to be around but i wish you all the very best - love and luck to you all!

*hugs* sorry the voices are giving you a hard time. I think you should talk to one of the nurses who isn't a mindreader. I can't say that it won't jeopardise your discharge but it's better to prevent an incident happening. Do you think you'd be able to control your actions tomorrow?

yes, hun. i think if you don't, and you try to hurt the consultant, you will be sent back to a secure unit. let them try to help you more. xxx

If anyone antagonises me tomorrow, I will flip and probably attack them. This includes the consultant especially. If he says I have to stay in, my hands are going around his neck. I'll tell a nurse called Helen who seems nice.

It sounds like a very good idea to tell Helen. It's much better to let them know by warning them rather than them finding out by you doing something because if that happened you'd be more likely to stay in longer.

I know that you know that you should tell them. You are strong Oly and can get through this but in order to bottom this out you are going to have to let them know how things really are instead of you being so strong and courageous all the time. Let them help you hun, it's terrible you are having such difficulties and the sooner you let them know, the sooner they can see about helping you. If the doctor says you need to stay in it is because you need to in order to get better. You now know you have a year out of uni so take this time to get well properly this time hun. *sends hugs and gently soothes*

Thanks all. I told Helen and she's getting the doctor to have a chat with me. The least he will do is medicate me to sleep because I've had bad insomnia for the past few days.

Well done for telling them =] You did the right thing.

Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything is different…

you once called your brain a hard drive, well say hello to the virus.

I'm at home now.

My Mum told me to be careful about what I tell my psychiatrist because apparently the psychiatrist at Friends' Ward in Fulbourn could have ruined my life forever by telling my university about my violent behaviour. He could even ruin my chances of getting a job by telling my employers.

But luckily he didn't. I hope.

i would speak to the psychiatrist and your team about that, rather than just go by what your mum says. (i'm not saying she's wrong, just that they're better informed). i'm glad you're home :)

Home is good, but I do miss Cambridge (the university) and all the people there.

My Dad is going to ask for me to have another forensic assessment so that my risk assessment can be updated, because the old one was done just after I had been involved in near-criminal activity in 2006 and hence doesn't apply any longer.

It sounds like your dad is being very practical! I reckon you should discuss with your mh team re what she said the psych could do.

My Dad has a PhD in engineering, so he is one of the most practical people around =)

I will ask the HTT tonight what they plan on doing in the very short term.
