Perphenazine anyone?

Anyone been on it before, had any side effects i should be aware of? Had any experiences of it working?! different for everyone i know. Seems to affect my sleep even more, but often meds do that to me

I've not heard of it either, which is suprising as I've heard of most psych meds. What's it for?

thanks, yeh, i'm getting about 3 hours a night and i'm on double the recommended dose of sleeping tablets!

I've heard of it although I haven't been on it. I did google it for you and there were some good pages full of information so I guess you could take a looky?

Wikipedia is good for info on medication.

I would avoid Wiki for medication information. Because anyone can edit it, someone who takes the med and has a bad reaction could change the page to say all sorts of bogus stuff. You should have gotten a med information insert when you got the prescription, that is the best place to look.

If you do get info online, make sure it's from a website that is run by either a medical organization or has doctors as consultants. WebMd is pretty good.

thanks guys, i looked it up on a website, only got tto's from hospital, so no leaflet, I was only discharged today. It has a whole host of side effects but cant see sleep on there! lol oh well i'll see how it goes. Theres no one who's actually been on it?

^^i dont know anyone who's been on it either.....i do know its like the "better" alternative to chlopromazine....in that its3 times stronger.....so def meets the criteria for "major tranquiliser"......
when i looked it up,it had the usual side effects listed.....
and can be used for a variety of problems....

i just read your other thread, why have they given you this if you say they arent doing anything to help you anymore??? surely someone must be following up you ip stay for a start???

as for perphenazine-never seen anyone one that (i work in a hospital pharmacy and supply to mental health unit)
