Ok, so I'm trying to write an essay (economics, in case you were wondering. I know, fun, eh?)
But anywho, I can't find the data that I need - trying to find unemployment rates/figures for the UK since 1980.
But the national stats office website doesnt seem to be playing along with me. Or I just suck at actually navigating my way around the website, which, let's be honest, is DEFINATELY a possibility.
Cos, y'know, I can explain the UK record probably without much bother. It's just actually finding the stuff to put in my essay lol.
Gosh, wouldn't it be nice if they just sort of eased us into it..

Really, unless someone can point me in the right direction, I'm not looking for anything.
I just wanted to moan about something. And also say HI.
I havent done that for a while.

I know a couple of sites that can help from when i did AS Economic before dropping it before A level. I'll try to grap the links for you when i get home and to my notes (where they're written down). I can't promise that i'll be able to find them though, i can only try to (o:

Tax records, they should be publically available.

Also the BBC News site is running stories today about the "increase in unemployment", there were what appeared to be some fairly useful graphs buried somewhere within the content.

Some political parties' websites contain such info in their policy manifesto. obviously biased though.

Thanks anyway guys. Probably I'm technically NOT allowed to ask you for help, but whatever :P
And after 5 hours (and much tears, frustration, and now a rather nasty headache) I found some stuff. Yayness.
Stupid websites only having statistics going back 10 years.
Now I just have to write the essay.

At least you can navigate around the website to find that out! When I do it the stupid site (or just me being stupid) comes up blank. I know that there must have reports done on flooding, why can't I find them?! I know there is a list with country's GNP/GDP but can I find them, no, of course I can't.
