Triggering (SI) - I messed up.

So, I haven't been on here in ages, because I didn't need to. I went without cutting for over six months.

And I did it again today. Had the worst day ever, terrible family drama went down, and I just had to, I guess.

I feel like such a failure.

I have a friend who's older than me, she helped me quit and was really worried about me when I was cutting before...I feel like I let her down.

6 months is absolutely amazing! You should be very proud of that. You are not a faileur though. You had a rough day and it's understandable that you fell back to something that always helped you. You need to push past it now though and get your head in the game. You can do it! Just keep breathing and take it a day at a time. I'm sure you didn't let her down. She just wants what is best for you. She cares a bout you<3
PM me if you need.
It'll all be okay!

*Cuddles you* Im sorry that you have had a terrible day. Going for six months without harming yourself is fantastic!! well done!! Im really proud of you. Six months is a brilliant achievement!! However slipping up does not make you a failure slipping up is all part of recovery we all slip up from time to time. Your not a failure, please dont be so hard on yourself. Try not to dwell on the fact that you have slipped up you need to try and find a way to move on.

If you keep dwelling on the fact that you have slipped up it will only make things worse. I know its upsetting when you have made such a brilliant achievement and then you slip up, but you did really well and i believe you will be able to do it again. Im sure your friend wont feel let down by you she sounds really nice so that leads me to think that she will be very understanding. Keep fighting dont let this slip up stop you from recovering. Your not back to square one so you will be able to get back on track again. Stay strong. You can get through this.

Take care best wishes Ian

6 months is such an acheivement and you should be proud of that... it was just a slip, or that is just the way i would see it, you fell back on SI because it is something you knew would help in a bad situation, but i belive that if you can be 6 months free you can do it all over again and i wish you luck (((hugs)))
peace love and good happiness stuff

Try to see past the slip up, don't try and focus on it, more that that focus upon what you have managed to previously achieve. That length of time proves that you can get past this and move on with your life, you don't generally need cutting. Everyone has bad patches where they may slip back into it, that is natural so try not to think of it as a really negative thing and get worked up over it because that may just make you feel worse and set off a cycle where you start hurting yourself more often.

So, I told my friend, and she's not disappointed in me, since she knows I'm going through a rough time, but I know that she really wants me to stop. And it makes me feel really bad, honestly, because I'm not sure if I can stop right now...
