Oh bum, I seem to be pregnant

I've got a doctors appointment this afternoon to find out why I've not had a period since June.

I'm dreading the result. I've done some home pregnancy tests, but they are negative.

If I am pregnant, I'm going to have to go through with a pregnancy and birth to give my baby up for adoption :(

I cheated on my husband and there is a 99% chance it wouldn't be his baby. He wouldn't raise another mans child. Neither or us believe in abortion, so I'd have to go through with the pregnancy.

I'm hoping that the home tests were right, and I'm not pregnant. I can't think what else it'd be though.

I'm on Quetiapine. I hope thats it, that'd be great! I'm also on Cymbalta and Omeprazole and domperidone for the side-effects. I do hope its that.

Did it stop them straight away? I started taking the ant pyschotic a month or two before my period stopped.

The doctor told me to do another home test. I've done it, and it appears to be positive.

When will I have a dating scan? I really need to find out who the father is. I have to wait till after the birth to get a DNA test don't I?

There is a fairly risky test that can be done to test the DNA before it's born, but its very very rare that the doctors will do just for a routine DNA test.

The first step will be getting a blood test done, which can confirm the pregnancy, and can also give a general idea of how far along you are by looking at the hormone levels. However, if you've been pregnant since June the test should have been positive a long time ago.

Your doctor will probably want to do a scan once they've done a blood test to confirm the results.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

I found a private clinic on Saturday, and had a scan. I'm about 12 weeks.

There are two possible fathers, but me and husband are raising the baby as ours. We aren't going to get a DNA test.

Dramatic

When did you take the first set of HPT's?
Did you use the same HPT when you took it after your doctors appointment?

As you're already past your first trimester, i find it strange that the first set of HPT's you took came out negative - but it does depend on when you took them. 3 months of missed periods must be a bit of a worry.

Atleast you know now.
Goodluck with it all. x

I bought 2 packs of two tests. All same brand. First ones negative, second ones positive! I think the negatives were at 4 weeks and 8 weeks.

I'm all happy now though.

Had an emotional talk with the probable father today. We discussed everything, and decided to have no more contact. He cried and told me he loved me and would be there if I ever need him. I cried and thanked him for everything.

So now to the future, with me, hubby and baby :)

OH doesn't seem to be coping well.

I had to go to A&E with pain and bleeding yesterday. He wouldn't come with me. He didn't ask how I was when I got home. He didn't notice me going to bed. He didn't come to bed, slept on the sofa instead. He didn't tell me he loved me this morning.

'The Other Guy' was incredibly helpful, telling me that he couldn't talk as he didn't want to annoy his wife. He offered to come with me to the scan tomorrow, but said he really didn't want to. Made a few other comments, so I hung up.

Feel so alone.

Wow. This is a real rollercoaster for you my love!
Have you spoken to your husband about this yet? You need to find out how he really feels because this will get worse and the last thing you need when you're pregnant is stress.

I do hope you can work things out, it all seemed to be going so well for a while there and then bad all of a sudden? Did something happen between you to make him behave this way?

I'm here if you need me, keep talking to us darling and we'll help wherever we can.

Good luck, I'm thinking of you.

I also meant to ask what happened at the hospital when you went.
What did they say to you?
Is everything ok?

hey, how are you? any news on bump? has your dr talked to you about taking your meds whilst pregnant?
also you can get false negatives for a range of reasons, not enough hormone in the sample (takes 3 days to appear in your water and 3 days to disappear too...), too dilute (drank too much water), incorrect use of test, faulty test, test passed expiry date, results read too early or too late, result too faint to read/evaporation lines etc

when i was pregnant i was 2 weeks when i tested, i had a really late ovulation and a really late implantation, i conceived (according to scan dates) on day 60 of my cycle (i have abnormal cycles) and my result was really clear as soon as the water passed over it, it was immediate and really dark, the second test did the same.

hope everything is ok, keeping you in my prayers, love mand x

Thanks everyone.

Had an emergency scan on Friday, after some bleeding. Luckily everything is fine, had to have an injection thats given me a nice itchy bump on my bum though!

Emotionally I'm up and down. Its been almost 9 days without medication, so hopefully the withdrawls and gone.

I've found a combination of things that makes the morning sickness tolerable, and I'm hoping that'll pass soon.

I'm 13 weeks today. I've got my NHS scan tomorrow.

Also got a letter from the neighbouring CMHT - I've got an appointment with them on the 27th for my second opinion. Hopefully they'll agree that I need some treatment, and who knows, maybe they'll refer me to someone!

Got a consultant pregnancy doc appointment in Dec, and they might be able to refer me for therapy. Cos of my history of mental health problems, I'm at higher risk, so they might offer something.

Hey.

How is stuff with your husband at the moment? Like Iz said, if he's not 100% okay with this you need to sort it out now, because it'll just get worse and worse the further on you go without talking about it.

Wishing you all the luck in the world.

x
