So.. It's university time, and i've said many a tearful goodbye to various friends as they up and leave me to go and have the time of their lives at uni *sob sob etc*
Is anyone else NOT going this year but deferring? Seems like i'm the only one but come on theres got to be more of youuu? :)
I am 20 and all my mates have left for uni but I am still at home :(
Let me be the one you call
If you jump i'll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn YOU'RE NOT ALONE
I never went to uni. I intend to one day though. At the end of yr 13, I had high anxiety and simply COULDN'T do my UCAS form. The prospect was just too scary! So... I never went to uni!
I'm 23 now, and have a toddler, but when she goes to school, I might give the ucas form another try... I really want a degree. It's not that I'm stupid. I got fantastic exam results in my GCSEs and a levels. I'm just really really scared of the ucas form. I hate forms.
All my friends have graduated. But to be honest, they don't have that great jobs considering how qualified they are now!
im not going ive still got at least one more year at college maybe two.
" my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trials and suffering. When you see only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you" you were carried out of are lifes into the next and when its my time to leave this life I know i will be carried into the next life with you.
I wish i had my world complete again.
'Can we protend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, i could really use a wish right now' BoB
I'm not going to Uni. My mates all jetted off (about an hour away from where I live) to uni last year, so I haven't had to deal with the emotional goodbyes this time around. I am however still the only unemployed one with no qualifications to name so I still get a bit 'Damn you, being successful' when they go back off to uni...
xxx
I'm starting my first year of uni, most of my friends are in their last year. My gap year was probably the best thing I ever did in my life, I learned so much, not only in my travelling and volunteering, but generally, in how to manage life and a job and suchlike. It's not necesary to get a degree to live a full amazing life, it's just something that's drilled into us.. I hope you get what I'm trying to say... x
Wake me up before I change again
Remind me the story that I won't get insane
Tell me why it's always the same
Explain me the reason why I'm so much in pain.
It feels like i'm not ¬_¬ I've had to say goodbye to far too many people & the last stragglers go this weekend. Me on the other hand, I start on the 4th *sighs*
I think a gap years a good idea though, lots of experience you can gain in it and take with you to uni, I just wanted to get away as soon as :P
"Be nice. Think happy thoughts. Champion silver linings. Love all things (not just cute things like babies and kittens) & when you do love - love like they do in power ballads (you know like on a cliff with the wind in your hair and your eyes shut, knowing you'll never know love like this). Watch out for dog poo. Smile at people - even grumpy ones. Remember anything is possible & whatever you do always try to look on the bright side."
ahhh well glad i'm not the only one. I wanted to go this year but i'm not allowed cause of my ED and blah blah won't moan on :P, can't wait until i'm "ready" to go next year :D x x x
Pixie! I started Uni this year (I'm in Australia, so, at the beginning of March we start) and ended up so unwell I deferred after three weeks - it was a wise choice!
I've been having SO much fun on my Gap year! It's a really given me time to get better and have fun and stop and smell the roses :)
I know how you feel though - I'm so anxious to get started I really want to be studying with my mates (who, as others have said, are already ahead of me) but, life is like that.
I'm at the university of life. It's the coolest uni around.. no fees for education. No lectures, you get to have your own room and do whatever you want.
My mates left for uni years ago, now all but 1 has graduated (she defered and took a gap year which was amazing for her)..the ones that have graduated still haven't got amazing jobs or anything.
I know what your saying though when people left to go to uni/move away it broke my heart. But you end up making more friends so it's all good.
Life can be beautiful if you let it.
Step back, breathe and take it in
I would be going this year but I didn't finish year 13 as I was too ill. I wish I was going but at the same time I know I probably wouldn't cope with it yet. Sooo I'm gunna go next year or the year after instead, when I have a bit more life experience.
It's so sad saying goodbye to friends, even though I know they're coming back at christmas, the last one just went yesterday and I was like :( :( !
Heartbreak, incarnate, I'm nothing if not your memories.
