OK, no, people don't want to come.

These things don't happen to me. I waited where I said to people who wanted to come for an earlier drink becasue they're shy etc, I waited for half an hour. One person came. Then he went off somewhere else because it was only us two. I don't want to go into town all on my own on the off chance that the other 59 people are at the club, because I don't know my way round and I'm too scared to sit in a club on my own. So I'm spending the evening in halls, watching films with some people from my flat.

This may sound small and silly but it's made me very happy!
There's a freshers forum for my university, and I started a thread for anyone who wanted to meet up during fresher's week so they knew some people, and lots of people actually want to come! And it's actually happening! Most of the time nothing comes of my ideas like this, but we had a date and a time and VIP tickets to a club if people come! So I'm really happy that I had a good idea and it worked and it's making me slightly less nervous about starting uni next week
