Now we all have a great need for acceptance, but you must trust that your beliefs are unique, your own, even though others may think them odd or unpopular, even though the herd may go.

They diagnosed me from my symptoms, they also did a chest X-ray to rule out any other causes. They MIGHT check your peak flow, but all that means is you have to blow as hard as you can into a machine or a simple measuring tool.

They suspected I had exercise-induced asthma so they had me chart before, during, and after I exercised with a peak-flow meter. I did this for about a week. They also had me re-do the testing after they perscribed me the inhaler. It was an obvious difference, and now I don't have a problem with any exercise - I can even run a mile (something I've never been able to do).
Even if you're terrified of docs, just go, if you do have asthma, you'll be incredibly glad after they give you the inhaler.

they will usually do your peakflow, maybe a treadmill/exercise test or possibly an allergy test, or just give you a vent inhaler and see if it helps :) nothing to be scared of, i spent years in and out for tests and such as i had severe asthma.

The doctors thought I had asthma and there are lots of tests they can do to test for asthma, like peak flow and stuff.
they're not that scary.
hope things get sorted
you can grow out of it.
just like the doctors thought I'd grown into it.

For what it's worth it was worth all the while. I hope you had the time of your life...
