Wait! You can still do this. Get past the block of showing your scars and you'll be able to compete. Alternatively, I believe there are whole bodysuits made to make you more aerodynamic in the water, maybe you could train (and compete if permitted) using one of these to cover up your scars?

Aww. I am sorry that you are feeling so hurt right now. Maybe you should use this is for motivation to get your life back.
I don't really understand why you can't become a professional swimmer because you have scars. Scars heal and it doesn't really matter what people think of you.

Maybe a 3mm wetsuit then? Think about it; which is going to be harder, letting that hold you back, or sitting there in a few years thinking what if, and feeling angry and depressed at yourself for missing an opportunity? People will indeed notice, but most have the decorum to not ask how you got them.

In time you will be a bit more confident about your scars... i bet there are loads of people especially myself who don't want to show our scars... but at one point we need to otherwise we will be stopped to do lots of things...

You can do your dream there is nothing stopping you apart from confidence... once you have the confidence to show your scars you will be able to carry on with your dream hunni...

I know this is more of a long term solution, but you can try scar reducers. Maybe train in a full suite until they start taking effect?? Just a suggestion. Try to keep your head up, a solution will present it's self. :)

"So what, your saying im your brand of heroin?"
"You are exactly my brand of heroin"
"So the Lion fell in love with the Lamb"
"What a stupid Lamb"
"What a sick masochistic Lion"
"Why am I covered in feathers?"
"I bit a pillow.Or two..."
"So exactly why did you decide to ruin Esme's pillows?"
"I dont know if I decided to anything last night, we're just lucky is was the pillows and not you"
