2 Years ago 2day I had majour spinal surgery!

Hi guys, I dont really know what to say but it's the 16th of August and 2 years ago on the 16th of August 2006, I underwent a 6 hour spinal surgery for scoliosis (abnormal curve of the spine) and hypolordosis (lack of natural lordosis which is the small of the back) I underwent surgery to straighten my spine and fuse it from T11-L3 (for those of you who know spine language lol) It's a pretty big thing to me as I seem to have come far and my spine is fully fused in that area now but I dont know if I should be sad because of the troubles I am now having in my back (osteoarthritis and a herniated disc)

I made the 2 year mark and I have a nice and straight spine.

Thanks for reading guys I know you probably dont care but this time 2 years ago I was in intensive care after the op for 3 days and it's strange to think about that fact, y'know!

Sounds scary stuff... glad your spine is straight now...

I have been in intensive care too... but can't remember much of it... But i remember crying when i arrived haha i was 13...

like i have said before you have come through so much and have so much to be proud about...i hope everything with your spine continues going well...its really not fair what some people have to endure... but as you know, it makes you stronger in the end.

I had scoliosis surgery initailly 13 years ago when i was 13. I had four rods inserted to straighten my curves out :) Unfortunately I had some problems so i had the rods removed when i was 17, but I'm so glad I had it done. I had to post as it's hard to find people who have had the op and I have worked with the Scoliosis Assosiation supporting people who have the condition! Congrats x
