where's the instruction booklet
for relationships?
i just feel like im doing everything wrong atm
im not cut out for relationships. i told myself never to go there. but then he came along and within the first conversation any doubt about getting into a relationship went right out the window- i just clicked with him.
but because ive never done relationships before i dont have a clue how to go about being in one and i always put my foot in it and end up upsetting him one way or another. i think i expect everything to be perfect and happy happy just because i love him. like i get upset by the fact that some days he's lovely and others he seems a bit off- but thats people in general right, everyone has bad days or days where they're just really tired.
and you know what, i shouldnt even be talking about this here i should be talking to him. i just dont have a clue how to initiate it- any way i can think of phrasing 'we need to talk about us' makes it sound like its going to end with me dumping him. but if i just start talking at him he'll just sit and listen like he always does without saying much himself- i need to make it clear i want us both to talk.
and its 20 to 3 in the morning and we've just been a bit harsh on each other so im probably chatting utter ****... meh

print this out, show it to him and say, i'm not sure waht to do! be honest. relationships should be built on honesty. you need to tell him what you want of it and vice-versa. But it takes guys logner to open up generally then girls. *pets* i hope you can get stuff sorted and stuff.

Unfortunately, it is different in each relationship. Good starting points are to listen to the other person and care about and remember what they say.
If you think something needs to be changed, use "I" statements. Pulling an example from whatever, instead of saying "Your socks stink" you could say "I'm bothered by the way your socks smell*
Be honest without being mean.
When you get through the tough times, it makes the good times better.

My husband is my best friend.
In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

Well, the instruction booklet for relationships was not stocked at any bookstore I've looked at. It must have been sold out or something ;)
Seriously though, every relationship is different. Some people like to talk about stuff, others like to figure things out in a journal, still others will distract themselves for a long time while figuring out issues. Figure out what works for YOU, because you'll be more honest that way.

Who can attest that when they're at their best
Oh their worst is still crouching close behind
It's coming to peace with the darkness in me
That allows the true light to shine inside
