tips for getting rid of scarring

im not really sure if this is in the right place...

Okay, so the story goes...im trying to get in the army. i dont SH anymore, but the scars that i have from when i did are pretty bad (keloid, razed, angry colored scars). Theres no way i can get in with the way my arms look now. Does anyone have ANY suggestions or tips to help get rid of the scarring?

Generally with Keloids they will stay reddened and nothing much will help, though some of the advice I say below might.

With most scars, if you massage Vit E Cream/ Cocoa Butter/ Bio Oil into the scars it may help over time. It doesn't work instantly though but eventually it can make a huge difference. Different people's skin types are different so people find some work better than others for them and some people prefer some products to others fr other reasons too so just try one and see how you feel. The scars are very unlikely to go but they may fade lots and therefore become a lot less noticeable.

Surgery can also help. Sometimes this is by the use of lasers now and that can get rid of or dramatically reduce scarring. Though, some are done by traditional surgical means, it depends on the type, depth and extent of the scarring and if you're prone to scarring, surgical wounds can also lead to keloid scars so that is something, along with the cost that you need to bear in mind

Can you be rejected by the army if your scars are only old? Perhaps it helps if you say that you are stable now and don't do it anymore?
Isn't there any way a psychiatrist can prove it by writing something for you?

i have to cover up the fact that i had any psychological issues, so trying to explain them away wont do any good. if im seeing a therapist, i cant get in, because then I'd be considered "under a doctor's care." theres a lot of stupid rules and regulations reguarding that type of stuff...i guess they want to make sure they can trust you with a gun or something.

thanks for all the advice, i actually just scheduled an appointment with my doctor to see about surgery, so we'll see where that takes me.
