Adult - Grrr...I can't even do "being nice" correctly
Bad language ahead -
Apparently I cannot even be a nice person well enough to please my mom.
Today I went with her to run some errands, as we're leaving Target she sees the nearby Outback steakhouse and says something about how good it would be to go there.
I've been wanting a steak lately so I told her "Well after I get paid on the 15th (first paycheck from my new job), we'll go and I'll buy lunch."
Her response was a tirade about how I'd better learn how to handle my money, how I was going to blow it all on stupid ****, and basically calling me incompetent.
And I'm the horrible person in this situation because I looked at her after that and said "Fine, after the 15th I'll go to Longhorn and buy myself a nice lunch...you can just not come since someone can't even be nice without you bitching and complaining about it."
Lets see....I've worked 2 or 3 jobs the past years while going to school full time, saved up enough in the months leading up to student teaching that I was able to survive for 5 months on savings alone, never been late on a bill, fixed the mess caused after my ex-boyfriend stole my credit card and cellphone and ran up sky-high bills...BUT OF COURSE I'M THE IDIOT WHO NEEDS TO BE SCREAMED AT ABOUT NOT WASTING MY MONEY.

Yeah, actually she did mean it EXACTLY as it sounded.
I can't explain it well but...I'm her compitition. If people pay attention to me then they're not paying attention to her. She has to beat me down at every turn to remind herself she's better than I am.
*will take you guys to Longhorn with her on payday, steaks for all!*
