Hamsters rock, mine has discovered a way to moon people (she has a toy car in her cage, she lays on her back in it and sticks her butt out the open back part!)
He looks like a very small kitten, but that's just because i've never seen a white and black hamster before.
Cute though.
Hamsters are pretty cool. We have one at work. She's weird.

You can put some vegetable oil or crisco on the axle. It'll make parts of his back rather greasy though as he rubs against it while he's running, but it does go away in time. To help it go away, you could put a tiny chinchilla bath in his cage for a night every couple of nights or whatever. It'll help with the whole greasy thing.
If that doesn't work you could get something called a 'silent spinner', which is a different wheel. I have silent spinners for my little hamster boys and they are awesome. I don't know if they're available where you are though.
aww he's lovely, i have a little white and ginger one called honey. cud try oiling the wheel. my hamster is a lazy git and doesnt use his wheel at all so i dont have the problem with noisy wheels. i want lots of hamsters!! hmmmm wonders whether she should get another one????? i have 2 cages hmmmmmmm xx

He's very, very cute! On the subject of wheels though, when he's fully grown (in a few months) he'll need a bigger wheel. Anything less than 8" diameter will cause back problems for him. For oiling, the advice given was good, vegetable oil is good stuff, and silent spinner wheels are fantastic. If it rattles then putting it on a stand rather than on the bars should help.
I had to have my hamster Mario put to sleep on Monday, he was 2 and a half bless him. My fiancee said he is gonna buy me a new one when I'm ready - i think I want one like Furby he is sooooo cute.
