Youth Worker?

I had a session with my psychologist today, everything went okay, which is good especially as I had such a bad day yesterday.

Somehow we got onto the topic of adult services (I'm 17 and with CAMHS), and she said that if I keep improving the way I have been, I might not have to go into adult services (woohoo!). Instead I might be working with youth workers instead.

I got very confused at this point because I don't know what a youth worker does, but I didn't say anything (typical!). She said that they work with people 16-25 and help with getting people back into college, and stuff to do with housing when people move out of their parents house and stuff. That is rather (can't find the right word) unspecific. I'm still confused as to what they might do with me, though I am supposed to be having a youth worker with me when I go to college during breaktimes and lunchtimes (not during the classes).

Anyone got any ideas?

you dont have to go to talk to there but there on standby when ever your feeling down and depressed and i find youth workers easier to speak to then cousnellers.they help u find the right path like housing, colledge, counsleeing and can even organise job interviews for u and if u have to fo to a interview if ur nerous they will go with you i hoped this help

I'm with Youth Gateway which is very similar to Connexions but in Wales. :)
