I am currently:
Triggering (SI) - Fine to Frustrated in .2 seconds (Zoloft?)

Why is it that I can feel fine for a while, and then out of nowhere, I wanna scream and shout. I want to throw things. I want to cut. I want to do a million things like that for no reason at all.

Today I sat on my bed, on the computer, and I was fine. Next minute I was so frustrated that I took like 3 or 4 things, threw them across the room, then cut, cried a little, and then started laughing like a fricken maniac. Then I felt fine again. What the heck is wrong with me?

Any ideas? And should I tell my doctor about this? I've had these little "episodes" before, but it felt a little bit more intense. I'm afraid that the 25mg Zoloft I've been on for the last week brought it on, and I'm suppose to up it to 50 mg tomorrow. Is this normal for being on Zoloft?

Sorry for such a long post...there's just a lot going on in my head right now. Thanks for any suggestions...

I don't know about Zoloft, but I'd have a chat with your doctor. You mention that you've had this before - was it before medication, or since you've started? The thing is, starting a medication and/or adjusting a dose and/or withdrawing from a medication, can often intensify symptoms that are already there.
What's your actual diagnosis?

I'm not sure what the actual diagnoses is. The doctor didn't tell me if she diagnosed me with anything...I'm guess just depression. She just put me on Zoloft for my depression and anxiety. And I've only been on the Zoloft for a week. I've had these little bursts of whatever they are before I started on Zoloft though...all the time.

oh zoloft... yes i was on this stuff. it didnt make me so well.
is this your first anti depressant or anti anxiety drug?
it was mine and it just screwed me up more so than i was when i came off it..
the effects took so long to ease off.. like a few months.
but dont let that worry you.
zoloft probably shouldnt start working that quickly because usualy it takes around 3 weeks to really kick in.
maybe talk to your doctor about this? has this ever happened before without the meds?
xx

It could be the medication or it couldnt be, or maybe its made worse by it. its best to talk to whoever pescribed them to you as they will have a better idea.
I took zoloft/sertraline for a while but had to be taken off it as it made me manic/moodswings to the point where they thought i was bipolar. They stopped when i was off it.
But everyones different, so id say talk to your doctor.

If it is your first week on the medication it may be having an effect upon your system and sometimes it will take a few weeks to settle down so I would give it a few weeks as far as that is concerned or if you really aren't feeling very well then get to the g.p's asap.

As far as I know Zoloft is the brand name for Sertraline. In the BNF it says that initially for depressive illness it may be started at 50mg the maximum dose is up to 200mg. It sounds like your doc is increasing it gradually so your not going full throttle on it to start with. I hope you start feeling better soon but visit the g.p. if you are worried xx

Don't know if this will help or hinder but I'm like that day to day or at least a few times a week. I freak out for no reason or at least none i can see, then when its gone, its gone and I'm just "WTF?!" but i'm not on any meds.. though i have just been diagnosed with something else so maybe this wasnt worth saying? just wanted to say its not just you!

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I haven't had any other weird episodes like that since then, but I'm pretty sure I'll be having another one sometime...I always seem to. Anyway, I'm still not sure if that's something I should talk to the doctor about. She'll probably say I'm just over emotional at those times or something. Ha.
