Safe - old scar... spreading?

I haven't SI'd in awhile, so I haven't been looking at my scars recently. However, I looked at a keloid scar on my thigh, and now I'm remotely worried. It was from over a year ago (April 2006), and was a pretty bad cut. (really needed stitches and all that jazz)... with no real medical care to it, I got an ugly scar. Wide, painful, purple, bumpy.

Looking at it now, its bigger than it used to be. I'm half attributing that to me growing and gaining weight (I'm 16), and it stretching the scar. Also, there's darker purple-red dots / bubbles in it. Those bubbles / dots are more painful to the touch than the rest of it. However, they seem to come and go. I had this same issue before, and it went away, but now its back.

Also, a new thing I just noticed today. There's a tan/yellow line all the way around the scar. Is that anything?

Last december, I went for a general checkup and I asked my doctor about my worse scars. (being the responsible person I am. hahahaha.) He dismissed it, after laughing at my SI and saying how pathetic it is. He told me I should check with my skin doctor. Haven't been.
I had hoped to get my scars checked... but no professional has ever.

From my description... is this something I actually need to get looked at?
Or is it just my own paranoia?

Thankies. =]

I don't know much about Keloids, but I agree that you should talk to your skin doctor. Keloid scars are interesting becuase they form differently then other scars, and actually can continue to grow after the wound has closed. It may be that the scar is growing and stretching as you grow, but it is best to talk with a dermatologist about it.

Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,
The beauty in life, where's it gone?
And somebody told me you were doing okay,
Somehow I guess they were wrong.

it seems like a scar that old shouldn't hurt when you touch it. definately talk to a doctor about that.
