Okay okay, so I'm a nerd... but hey, there are worse things right?

Anyway, just felt like chatting to anyone into 40k..

I used to collect when i was younger but never had anyone to play against so I lost interest.... i wasted so much money on that stuff

And as the premiums on it are so high, it has no resale value.

Most of mine is unpainted.... but maybe one day i'll dig it out and paint it up nicely.... I loved building/converting

Space marines are a good race to start with.

Read into the various chapters, each has its own unique history and backstory. It was after reading into it that I decided to go for blood angels, good characters and a colourful history :)

Be prepared to spend spend spend........it can be a very expensive hobby.

The games workshop own paintbrushes are good quality but they don't really do them small enough for intricate detail work from my own experience.

It's a crack habit of a hobby, get out while you can! Nah seriously, Marines are a good force to start with, more straightforward tactics and less models to paint (and buy!), than the horde armies like Orks and Imperial Guard.

I'm more into the fluff/backstory and DOW nowadays. I don't really have the patience/money for TT.

Don't worry too much about a chapter, other than the colour scheme

I have about a hundred euro saved up.. not QUITE enough to get started, but nearly. I'm gunna wait til the 5th edition comes out too, I mean how much would it suck to get into it only for the rules to be changed a week later?

They're a LOT better than the 4E rules, especially the new "true line of sight" rule. In the old rules if a unit was more than 6" in cover, you couldn't shoot them, which sucked, but now if your unit can see them, they can shoot them, which is a hell of a lot more fun.

Theres a lot more emphasis on troops too, cos 2 out of the 3 possible missions are objective-based and now only troops can take and hold objectives, which means much bigger, much cooler-looking games.

Theres a lot more new rules and tweaks but thats all I can remember for now..
