Five Things...
Sorry if there's a post like this already. I looked real quick and didn't see one, but that doesn't mean there's not. Right now I'm numb, so numb... it's hard to really make sense of much right now...
So because I think it'll boost people's spirits, here's what you do....
Come on here and list 5 things every day that were good or mad you happy or improved your mood even a little. Yes, five. You can do it... some days 5 might seem like too few, others it will be a challenge to even think of one (believe me, that's where I'm at right now), but you all can do it!
I'll start....
Today....
1. One of my instructors sent me an email saying she left an article outside her office for me that she thought I'd find interesting. That cheered me up a lot, because she actually cared enough about me that she thought of me and then brought the article to school (she's not even there most the time cuz she's on sabatical and she lives a decent drive away). I know she had to be on campus anyway, but even knowing that and knowing it probably wasn't REALLY all that much effort didn't change the way I felt and how happy it made me.
2. One of my friends from school knew I had had a crap day so picked me up and drove me to a park down by where I go to therapy that is the coolest park ever. It never fails to cheer me up regardless of what is wrong. Today was no exception. And my friend even ran around the park with me. We both acted immature and it was totally socially inappropriate, but sometimes there are days when you have to just say to hell with social norms, I'm going to do what I need to do to take care of me and make myself feel good. This was one of those days.
3. (now this is getting tougher for me)... My cat greeting me when I got home. She's always waiting for me and always happy to see me. It makes me feel at least a little loved (even if animals might not be capable of love, I'm allowing myself to pretend...).
4. Even if I didn't get an A on my psych final this morning, I know I at least did well enough to get an A in the course. And it's supposedly a really difficult course too.
5. When I went by the instructor's office to pick up the article that her email said she had left, she was actually there in her office!!! I was VERY excited that I got to see her, and even though she was very obviously very busy, she still made time to spend a good 20 minutes talking to me!
