Rant against Meyer

Oh good lord i'll be glad when this whole Twilight thing is over...

Yes, the books are good, and yes they are all romantic and lovey dovey and everything...

But I cant shake the feeling that they were written for twelve year olds. They are hardly deep...

And lets face it, if you took out all the bits where Meyer describes Edwards facial expressions, the book would be ten pages long.

It is scientifical fact that 90% of Twilight fans have not read the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, which are MUCH better books... Not only are the characters more exciting, but there is boysex! yay!

I guess im just annoyed. hehe I get angry at the latest thingies all the time. Like iPods. I just wanna destroy them all! Muahahaha!

Aye, I dunno.

I see a lot of potential for vampire fiction. But it doesn't seem to be reached. Take Anne Rice, first four books, maybe five six books, brilliant, after that it's pretty much repetitions of the same story.

Twilight, meugh. I couldn't finish the first book. Pretty much agree with your points.

I love Twilight, but I agree that Anne Rice books are about 19083486756 times better...
Can't resist a bit of Meyer though :)

KHK, what do you love about Twilight? I don't mean this is a nasty way, I'm curious as to what people really like about it, maybe I didn't read far enough. I don't know. What are the best bits?

Anne Rice's books just seem so poignant and sad, and the only thing Edward Cullen can pull off is standing there looking gorgeous.

And whilst the movies were the worst book-to-movie ripoffs ive ever seen, if you ignore the big plotholes, they are freakin awesome... Twilight just looks like some big perv-fest =/

Having read neither (Although I want to read Anne Rice's books), I can't have a great informed opinion. However, the prospect of BOYSEX does incline me towards that side of the argument

I was hoping to get both series from the library to compare them, but no library near me has them on shelf.... grrrr >_<

*Hopes Alice reads this and takes the hint *

To be honest, I was 'in between books' and I picked up Twilight in a book shop, and I just liked the descriptive style.
If you don't like alot of description, obviously it's not the series for you, but I like being able to picture everything in my head and I think Stephanie Meyer did that well.
