Comforting words.
My great aunt Viv died 2 Thursdays ago and the funeral was today, she was cremated, and something that the priest guy said today really stuck with me, and I would like to share it with others grieving for those they have lost as it has really helped put death into a better context for me - I have suffered for years after learning that my Uncle Andy's real cause of death was suicide.. It hit me very, very hard and was one of the main causes of the depression I suffer from now, but this gave me a glimmer of hope for the first time in years (sorry that it is not word-for-word perfect, but it's close):
When those we love die, it leaves a hole inside us, and this hole is unfillable. Never try to fill it with anything or anybody else - no matter how painful or lonely it feels to have this emptiness, as this hole is a memory of what they meant to us in life, a reminder of the eternal bond that you and they shared which shall never be forgotten.
I really hope these words help others the way they have helped me. I just thought I would share them..

I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much.
