Hi

I'm a S/H adult and I found counselling a complete wast of time. I have a psychologist and find that she is much better.

I have had three counsellors and I think they are only trained to grunt in the right places. I would recommend you talk to your GP and ask if there is a psychologist available. I find that the fact they are better educated and more challenging a great help. I feel she actually validates my feelings and understands where I am

I do hope you find someone who works for you though

"I laugh, I love, I hope, I try, I hurt, I need, I fear, I cry. And I know you do the same too so we are not that different you and I.

You'll be surprised to know how far you can go from the point where you thought it was the end.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I'm waiting at the moment for a referal letter to be sent to my GP from a+e before I go, I don't really find my doctor very approachable, so the letter is the ice breaker kinda thing. So i was hoping to try and find someone off my own back before hand. It was worth asking. Thank you anyway. :)

If you're looking for a psychotherapist, go to the UKCP site, and you can request an email list of practitioners in your local area.
