Triggering (SI) - To tell or not to tell?

I cut last week, quite deep but not that bad. Anyway I had cut the day before PE so the next day when we were getting changed the cuts were still red and very noticable.

I usually change in the corner, alone, but 2 of my friends came with me. I tried my hardest to change while they weren't looking but I was caught. They asked me how I got them and I made up a really rubbish but original excuse that my cat had attacked me. This was silly because bith of them know that my cats are gentle and never scratch for no good reason.

I changed and nobody said anything of it. But recently they've been asking questions. I don't know what to do. Should I tell them and hope that they don't tell anyone else, or should I just keep on making up excuses?

It depends alot on how much you can trust them not tell anyone I guess.

In the long run, it would be easier to tell them truth than constantly making up excuses. Sooner o later they'll probably work it out if you keep on making the excuses.

hunni, i really think you should tell them.
it sounds like you need some support right now, your friends sound like a good idea who you could confide in.
if your cuts are deep, maybe you should clean them?

If you feel that you can trust them, then it's probably best to tell them. As Sofie said, it would make things easier for you and it would be better if you told them rather than having them finding out on their own.

All true, and I completley agree with everyone. But the thing is the idea of SH is completly alien to them.

I don't know if they would understand or they would run screaming for their lives because they think I'm some kind of freak. I just don't know how they would react.

I think I'm leaning toward the idea of telling them. I suppose it better coming from my mouth, maybe I can even try to explain.

if you trust them i also think you should tell.. it is possible that they wont understand it but you'll never find out if you dont tell.. and even if they dont understand they might still be willing to learn more about it and support you.. help you get through this..
i spent many years making excuses and lying to my friends but i found out that telling my friends and family actually made us closer.. because by telling them you also show them that you trust them and constantly lying to them about it will only keep you apart..
but its really up to you to decide if you trust them enough to tell them something like this.. i hope it works out okay if you decide to tell them..
