disability and mental health

I am wondering how many of you are on
disability for depression/ PSTD? and how hard it was to get it? My doctor is thinking about putting me on it for the depression pstd and the psycial problems I have but I dont know how hard it will be to get on and I just want to hear some of your alls tirals and expericanes with getting on disabity.

I'm pretty sure it's harder to get on it in the US. Actally I just read something about it in my econ book. I don't know how hard it is to get on it but I think it does take a while. My uncle is on it for PTSD and it took him a long time to get on it.

Im currently at the stage of applying, i got nocked back the first time but they said it was because my doctor didnt fill out the forms correctly. Im in aus, hopfully ill get it.

I receive incapacity benefit and DLA. Care coordinator helped to fill in DLA form as it is quite long. I had to have a medical for my incapacity benefit after about 6 months to make sure i was still entitled to it.

i have incapity benfiyt DLA income support im on highst rate of inpatity benfit never had a medical as they say i have a recnoised condition my social worker helped me with forms and pysc sent forms i get low rate mobiblity and middlle rate care DVLA it has to be reviwed again in 2010 some people only get DVLA etc for 6 months and have to apply again when it runs out it takes a long time but if u get awaded it they will backdate your money from when your claim went in
