Why in the UK is a fanny a front bottom and in the US its a back bottom??
I almost choked the first time i heard some loud American woman in Stratford Upon Avon proclaiming she was going to put her coke can in her fanny-pack!!!! Sweet jesus i thought, she must be a loose woman! >.>
Oh and for all those non brits Stratford is the birthplace of Shakespeare and is a tourist mecca for Americans!
I guess for the Majority of American people its the first time they have ever come across culture :P JOKE!!!!

lol,
i remember when was in yr 7/8 at school (aged 11-12 ish) and we used to do french exchange trips. one of my friends french pen pal was called Fanny. of course we all found it hilarious! hehe
this pic is so i can always remember jen who was my l'il sock monkey friend who has left ryl and i miss her!!!
we had american students in our class when i was younger and i remember making a mistake in my work and asking them if i could borrow a rubber - the looks i got! Apparently americans call them 'erasers' whereas we called erasers those things that magically got rid of fountain pen ink and then you could re-write over it. 'Rubbers' aparently equalled 'condoms'.. so yeah..lol!

Hmmm, Matthew, may I remind you who it was that thought I MUST MUST be English because I spoke the language too well to be American....AHEM!
What I think is rather funny about the languages is the fact that some American words are really old British words that we still use and the Brits don't. For example the word "fall" meaning the season after summer and before winter was originally a British English word, however now it's common in the US, and uncommon in th UK, where it has been replaced by autumn.
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way,

A bum bag or fanny pack is one of those belts you put around your waist that has a little pouch with zips on it. Its for storing your camera and wallet and things when walking around. Tourists use them mostly and old people. :P
So in the UK the word Fanny is a coloquialism (slang term) for vagina and in USA its slang for bottom.
As for your accent being sexy i wouldnt have a clue not having spoken to you verbally. Also being so sweet and innocent i wouldnt know what the word sexy means anyways. >.>

Slightly off topic but did anyone read Enid Blyton's Enchanted Wood/Magic Faraway adventures when they were young? Wasn't there a character in the books called Fanny. It made me chuckle then and still does now - oh well, one day I will grow up

Even as the stone of the fruit must break
that its heart may stand in the sun,
so must you know pain.
There are only two ways in which one can live their life. One is as though nothing is a miracle, the other is as though everything is.
The most famous fanny in the UK was probably Fanny Cradock.
Possibly the scariest woman to ever appear on television.

Yeah, I loved those books aswell. I had a set of Enid Blyton trilogy books - the orangey colour one was the Magic Faraway stuff, the pink one was the Wishing Chair ones, the blue one had the Adventurous Four stories in and the green one had the Naughtiest Girl at School stories in. Got them for Christmas when I was 6 and loved them to bits : )

I have loads of Enid Blyton books. I collected them in my late teens. Wasnt someone trying to suggest once that they changed the name od George's mother Fanny as it was no now appropriate for younger readers.
I was 1st introduced to the faraway tree by the night nurse called Trixie in the adolescent ward. She used to read me bedtime stories.
