Paper
Oo Following on from the thread about GCSE's on the 'pen colour thread' and the discussion that technology will soon mean GCSE's and other exams are done on computers rather than paper.
Paper seems to be becoming a think of the past, old - fashioned etc
Erm I like paper. I don't want it to go. Obviously, I use a PC but I also like to write on paper too.
I know it harms trees as they have to be cut down for paper but we can always plant more..
:( ok I'm feeling sad now!

*hug*.
I like writing too.
Writing's more personal and when you're doing your GCSE's and your asked to describe something, it just seems better.
Everyone's writing is different...whereas computer fonts are all the same.
I just like writing.
*hug*
You're not aloneeee.

I agree about writing being more personal. With me there's something about paper. It feels more natural than a computer, and so when I'm writing, I seem to be able to flow more.
It'll be really strange if people start doing exams on computers.

There are things you can't do, or will struggle anyway, on computers such as maths or anything that requires diagrams. I can also write an awful lot faster than I type so writing is always the best thing for me.
I can't read books off of a computer screen. I have to get the book version. Same with journal articles, I have to print them out if I can't get the paper version.

I'd much prefer to do exams or whatever on a computer, simply because I type faster that I write and my handwriting becomes illegible towards the end of the exam which is never a good idea. I enjoy writing...just not heaps like we do in an exam. =]
