Triggering (OD) - Kelly's little boy...please send good thoughts for him.
i absolutely HATE myself right now.
i ALWAYS keep my meds in a safe place.
but for some reason i left my laxatives on the desk last night.
they are tiny orange flavored tablets.
little Kaleb got hold of them this morning and ate a few of them before we realized it. we found out after he vomitted in his bed. i counted the laxatives to figure out how many he had taken.
i talked to poison control. he should be ok. we have to keep him well hydrated...but im still afraid he will have terrible stomach cramps and diahrreah.
im hoping he vomitted the majority of them up.
im just so worried even though poison control and the pharmacist said he would be ok.
will you guys please keep him in your thoughts?
thank you so much.
love to all.

Reason: Edited out number of tablets. Possible tipsharing.

*hugs hugs* I'm sorry to hear that hun, and I'm sending good thoughts to you all. I'm sure he'll be okay, especially if both the pharmacist and poison control have said so. Let us know how things go? Hope you're okay xx

I am currently:
poor little guy! they are right - he will be fine, crampy and a little dehydrated so feed him as much juice, etc as he can stand and then some more, but he will be absolutely fine. it is NOT your fault though. nobody can have their eyes and ears out 100% of the time and kids will get into stuff, sometimes even if it is tucked away in a safe place.
take care of yourself please
xxxooo
thank you both.
he has been fine except for a bit of diarreah.
but he is staying at his grandparents(right next door) tonight as i have been very sick since i made this post. i couldnt stop vomitting and ive been asleep all day. still really shaky.

It's not your fault. Like others have said, kids get into stuff no matter how careful you are. You noticed in time that even if he'd taken a whole lot more you'd have gotten him to the hospital in time for him to still be fine, and it sounds like this is the first time something like this has happened, so I think you're doing a pretty darn good job really.
When my sister was about 3 she drank a bunch of Triaminic, and she had to take Ipecac so she'd throw up, and I think she also went to the hospital. She was fine, but it could have been pretty bad. Anyway, my parents were always really careful when we were little, and the had child locks on everything and all that, but someone didn't screw the cap on tight enough, and left it on the counter where Anna's friend could reach it. These things happen no matter how careful you are, and I'm sure Kaleb will be fine.
And if poison control thought there was even the slightest chance he wouldn't be okay staying at home, they'd have told you to take him to the hospital just in case. Doctors will never ever tell you not to come in unless they're 100% sure you don't need to, cause if they say not to come in and miss something serious that way, they're most likely going to get their a**es sued.
