Thread for those starting college in September!

I thought we could have a thread for those peeps who are starting college in september. I'm starting an access to higher education and am really excited about it and learning lots of new things.

Maybe we could have tips about study, recommendations, chat, advice and lots more...

What do you think??? And... what are you studying/wanting to study... in september?? lol

I just want to tell all of you starting college in September, not to be scared! Everybody is in the same boat as you and it's easy to make friends in all of your lessons.
Good luck everyone!

You can't lose hope when it's hopeless.
You gotta hope more,
then put your fingers in your ears and go,
"Blah blah blah blah!"

I miss you Pip ♥

I somehow managed to get into a King Edwards college, for those who don't know they like only accept you if you're above the average grade wise and if you do a lot extra curriculum etc...

Yeah I'm pretty amazed I got in =| and I'm doubtful it was a wise decision to accept the place...Many of the students drop out after the first term due to the stress put on you...But ah well I shall see :)

I'm studying Dance, English Lit/Lang, Film Studies and Philosophy...

just because you've forgotten doesn't mean you're forgiven

I've been to one year of college, but took a couple years off. I'm hoping to go back in the fall. I still have one more thing to get in before I know if I'm accepted, though. I'll hopefully be doing a double major in ministry and psychology. =)

To everyone going to college. Seriously do not worry.
Everyone and i mean everyone is in the same boat and you'll all be nervous.
But i've got the easiest thing to say to someone if your waiting outside your class room for the first time just simply ask
*Are you waiting for (insert lesson here) too?*
Or another one is *Hiya i'm (insert name here) is this you're first day too?*

Trust me it's really easy to make friends in your lessons.
On my first day i saw a girl who i thought looked so popular and i was terrified of her. She's now one of my best friends =]

I've made 5 of my best friends there.

So don't worry =]

I'll give you a few tips, I started college last year and doing my A levels...

The first year can be pretty tough, but keep going! it gets a hell of a lot easier! its just that transition to higher education from GCSE that sometimes makes it a little harder!

Friends are pretty easy to come by, quite a lot of people will be in a position where they will have had to leave all their friends behind! just make yourself friendly and approachable and yeah! things should go well!

And a study tip, if you are doing A levels, after every section of work i recommend making revision notes. all through the year because when it comes to revision it is pretty hard to work out what came where and stuff!

Just try your hardest and although HE isn't for everyone, it will be for a lot of you!!
If you ever need any help with psychology, textiles or sociology, just ask!

Thea

Good luck for everyone starting college in September! I know it can seem really daunting but like a couple of people have already said, everybody really is in the same boat so just get talking to people and you'll find making friends easier than you think! Also remember there are lots of people you can ask for support if you need it. At my college we have student tutors who are really helpful to go to for anything and also my lectureres are really lovely too so if you're having any problems at all please do ask because there are a lot of people willing to help you.
