Aye, it seems like I go through an mp3 player every six months. I have gone through two sonys, two creative zens, my Mum's creative zen has also broken so I'm getting a tad fed up with them. Seeing as RYL is generally the fount of all knowledge after google (and yes I've looked around amazon). I've read ones with flash drives rather than hard drives are better (so how do I tell?) and erm, yeah I'd like one with 8GB+, or would it be better to just buy a cheap small one that lasts? (Are there such things?)
I dunno lol I got an Itronics one from argos, 2GB for £22 and it's pretty awesome, I haven't had any problems with it and all my other MP3 players before have broke within a couple of weeks so yeah, they're pretty good. My mum has the same make but a 1GB and her's has lasted a year or two aswell
Flash drives unlike hard drives have no moving parts and so are usually more reliable as there aren't many bits to go wrong. However, they don't usually hold nearly as much information as a hard drive so if you want more than 8GB, you'll probably have to have a hard drive one.
I've had a creative Zen sleek for two and a half years and although it has the odd moment of madness, it seems pretty good and I've dropped it a lot of times.
Flash drives are better in that they have no moving parts, unlike a hardhard. This generally means they're alot more reliable, but will have less memory.
Flash drives are increasingly getting bigger though, you can pick up 2Gb for not much at all, which will hold around about 15ish albums.
I believe it's even possible to get a 10Gb flash drive these days.
Would anyone like to buy me one?
wow, thats alot of MP3s. I've had one, then i went on to use my phone (W810i) which is very reliable...
So walkman phones have stolen my heart (second to my g/f of course) :D
I have issues with headphones never lasting tbh, i have started to stock pile cos it got rediculous :P
I dont like ipods, i think they are a bit overrated.
I have a sony one, which i love and it has 8 gb and was only £100. I have another sony one before i got my newer one and ive never had any problems with them

Alas, I've had loads of problems with sony. :( I hate, what's it called, can't remember the name of it, but the software that you had to use with it. Also I'm looking at a minimum of 16GB.
I have always gone for the cheap ones because then if it is lost/breaks/stolen I don't really care. I bought the cheapest one I could find, which was around 25 US dollars, and it has lasted me over 2 years. It only has a gig of memory, but that is enough if you are just using it for music, documents, and pictures.
Im going through ipods atm.
I had a 20gb one, dropped that off a roof top - was a birthday present.
Then pulled together all my pennies (literally) and got one of the new 80gb video ones - that one i left on the side at college and it got knicked - now i can afford to get a new one.
I have an old flash drive thing, was my first mp3 player about 4yrs ago - use it as a dictaphone for lectures now, it was only a 512mb thing, but has lasted for so long. But now ive had an ipod i dont think i could go back to them.
