lending money to a freind

I lent about a £100 to a freind, and the reason being is that they said they owed money to someone.. so anyways i lended them the money.. that was last year and then this year they said they needed for so i lent them about £10 and said to them i cant lend any more money, until you pay me back the rest.. so anyways they said they would pay me back.. but i dont reckon they will.. i dont lend them anymore now... from what i heard hes been trying to get money out of everybody..
weird thing is, this so called freind from college, only wants to know me if i have money so that they can have..

i have told them how i feel about it, and they seem okay about it.. to be honest after i had lent them the money, i felt like i had been used, and i felt like an idiot, because i was too soft, and gave them the money

Maybe that 110 dollars was worth it. Think about it this way. By lending them the money, and them not paying it back, you've realized that they aren't someone you can trust in that way. You've learned a valuable lesson. But now you have to make sure you follow that lesson. Be careful who you lend money too. You said yourself that you felt used and everything. In the long run, the money you've lost could actually save you money!

I have a friend just like that. He only contacts me when he wants money and gives me a whole sob story about how he has no money for this and that. But after lending him £400 over the last year and not even being offered a penny back I know not to be so quick to help people out.
Try telling your friend that you feel used when you give them money, make them understand that theyre making you feel abit crappy.
If you need to chat then PM me anytime. X

Hey
Sorry to hear about your situation.

I had a similar one with my brother he borrowed £300 told me he would pay me back in a month never did then he did about 2 years later then he borrowed another £300 again took a significant amount of time.

Stick to your guns and dont lend them anymore until they pay you back, its not fair and imagine if the situation was reversed would they lend you the money?

Tell them how you feel and explain you really need the money and if they dont give it back then you'll get others involved the moment i did tell my mum he paid me back quicker than when it was just me getting on his case.

Sorry if thats not much help. Good luck xxx

the rule is, if you are going to lend money to some one, make them sign a contract saying they will pay it back, this means if they dont you can take them to a small claims court.

Other than that dont lend money to people you dont know too well.
