If you are referring to showing scars then Im sure the law protects against such descrimination.

However, if your injuries were considered hazardous to your place of work, or to yourself due to the environment then maybe there would be a case against you. for instance if you are working within a medically controlled environment where there is high risk of contamination of either you or the product as a result of open wounds etc. Also if you are doing it at work in front of people then there may be a case also.

If your injuries caused sufficient distress to colleagues that it caused an issue then i think the manager would be within their rights to suggest you cover up a little but sacking would be a little harsh if not illegal.

I cant remember all the laws as its been a while since i worked.

I dunno, I suppose it depends what line of work you are in. To get on my uni course they say you have to be over a year s/h free and stuff. If you are working with ill people and you have cuts which are infected you could be putting yourself and others at risk. It depends.

If you still have open cuts, I would suggest bandaging them carefully with antibiotic goo i think germoline is a kind of it in the UK. Put on a lightweight long sleeve shirt or pants. That will help keep dust and donkey hair out of the wounds. I like to wear long sleeve men's casual shirts or men's long sleeve T-shirts. The menswear is much less expensive than womans at least here! If you get a casusal shirt, and the cuffs are too big it is easy to move the buttons over.
btw I now get all of my long sleeve shirts in men's wear or make them from a men's pattern in a girly fabric. Sun shirts,
That is another excuse, the shirts/pants will protect you from the sun!

My husband is my best friend.

In forgiving others, we are not exonerating them. They may not deserve exoneration. Rather, in forgiving others we are giving up our anger over the fact that what happened is not what "should" have happened or that our life is not the way it "should" have been.

when i was at uni, had to prove i was 2yrs free so that i could do the course-i lied!

but recently after being at my job for 3 yrs i spoke to my managers about it cos was going through very rough time with sh, and was worried they'd sack me but no.......

i work for the NHS with pts but cos im not a risk to anyone else its not an issue, obviously there is a lot around about infection control so i just have to make sure any open wounds are covered.
occupational health can sign you off if they think your not fit for work(in nhs anyway) and then just have to have reg assesments to check your alright-but for you not so they can sack you. my managers have made it clear i woould never be sack unless i put the patients at risk or my colleagues.

this pic is so i can always remember jen who was my l'il sock monkey friend who has left ryl and i miss her!!!
xx
