does anything work?
i am new on here but feel the need to post.
i have had suicidel thoughts for as long as i can remember.
i have been on so many meds its laughable.
went to the doctors today to get told he cant do anything to help me till he's received specialist help, because nothing in the past has worked, counselling or meds.
i have a wonderful husband and daughter yet i still drink way too much and hurt myself.
is there a cure? does it ever get better.
i just feel so alone and down, its like i cant cope with real life (whatever that is!!)
sorry for rambling, i guess its a kind of reaching out post.
vix.

Hey there,
I don't really know what to say that is helpful but you're not alone on here, and there may not be a 'cure' for how you feel but things can definitely get better if you hold on and keep battling through a day at a time, and remember that you have people who must love you very much. There are always reasons to keep holding on, even if you can't see them right now.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time finding something that works for you. I think you just have to find what works for you personally. I hope you find it, whatever it may be. Hang in there.

You have to find that out for yourself I'm afraid. What works for me will not work for you because you're not me...and there's only one of you so you can't really find it in what other's do. Meds and doctors are not all the hope there is, I believe the answer lies within your mind, the way you think and see things. You say you have a daughter and husband, perhaps you can try and spend more time with them, having fun and distracting yourself...but ultimately you have to try new things, go places and try to have fun as much as possible. Maybe you'll find new joys in your life and other ways of feeling better...other types of "therapy" that can help you along with what you're trying now. You really can't rely on medicine alone, you have to make yourself happy as well so go and find things that do so and stick with them.
Welcome btw.
