Sorry about this, but i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to make my paper (so far) better, or if it is an okay paper, its worth like 30% of my grade and yeah it needs to be good cause i like need to pass this quarter. so yeah here's my essay.


There are many reasons to suspect that Macbeth went crazy before he was murdered. Some of the decisions that Macbeth had made were ones that could have contributed to his insanity. His decisions, however, were not the only cause to his insanity, other things such as outside factors could have contributed to it as well. Psychiatrists today may have suspected that Macbeth could have suffered from multiple mental illnesses. Macbeth may have went crazy, but he did not start off that way, it all started when the three witches told him the prophecy, that said he would become the king of Scotland.
When the Three Witches told Macbeth the Prophecy, that he was someday going to be king, he became crazy for power. Lady Macbeth played very big role in making Macbeth crazy for power. She was the one who pressured him to start killing people. Eventually she convinced Macbeth that he should murder the current king of Scotland. Eventually she convinced Macbeth that he should murder the current king of Scotland by mocking him and calling him a coward. “When you durst do it, then you were a man” (43) Lady Macbeth mocks Macbeth saying that he is not a man unless he kills Duncan, which in turn forces him to kill Duncan to get more power and to obtain the kingship. This is just the beginning of Macbeth’s madness, at this point he was just crazy for power, but it will become more than that as time goes on.
After Macbeth kills Duncan he feels very guilty with his decision to do so, which plays a big part towards his insanity. After killing Duncan Macbeth returns to Lady Macbeth, he tells her that he had heard Donalbain and his brother wake up as he was returning. He explained how he could not say amen when he heard them praying, even though he felt as if he needed to. He also explains that on his way back he thought he had heard a voice saying “Sleep no more!/Macbeth does murder sleep”(57). This shows that he is starting to go a little bit crazier due to his guilt, which is the result of his decision to kill the king. When Lady Macbeth tells Macbeth to return the daggers, he cannot because he is paralyzed with horror. Lady Macbeth goes to return the daggers and Macbeth hears knocking and says that every noise he hears appalls him. He also says how he does not think his hands will ever be clean from the blood, which is a representation of his guilt. These all show signs of guilt, which are slowly leading him closer to insanity.
Macbeth was now even crazier for power, he feared that his own children may never become future kings, but instead Banquo’s children would take the throne later on, so he decided that he needed to kill Banquo and Fleance. Macbeth hires two men to kill Banquo and Fleance, a third murderer joins them and they kill Banquo, but Fleance escapes. At Macbeth’s banquet one of the murderers shows up to tell him that the killed Banquo but Fleance had gotten away. Macbeth says that his fit is coming again, he says “But now I am cabined, cribbed, confined, bound in / To saucy doubts and fears” (101) Macbeth then sees the ghost of Banquo, which is sitting in his place at the dinner table. This shows that Macbeth feels guilty about Banquo’s murder, which was his decision because he was afraid that his children would never be future kings. Macbeth’s slow decrease in mental stability is getting larger it seems with every person he kills.
After Macbeth has his encounter with Banquo’s ghost he goes to see the three witches, who tell him to beware of Macduff and that he cannot be killed by any man born of woman, which makes him feel invincible. Macbeth found out that Macduff fled to England; at that point he decides to kill Macduff’s family. Macbeth explains the reason he killed Macduff’s family, “ His wife, his babes, and all unfortunate souls / That trace him in his line” (131). This is saying that all his descendants will be killed, which shows again how crazy for power he is.
Another reason why Macbeth may have gone crazy is because he defied the natural order. The witch says “All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be king hereafter!” (17) She also says something about Banquo have sons that are kings. Macbeth makes it so Banquo will not have sons that are kings because Macbeth interferes with that. Which may result in him going crazy for a punishment.

Wow. It's very long and I didn't read all of it. You are obviously very intelligent, but at some points it seemed a bit rushed. With too many points and not enough explanation. But then I have no idea what you are aiming for. Sorry I'm not much help.
