stuffed animals

So last nigh, I kinda threw up on one of my favorite stuffed animals last might, so obviously it's kind of gross, and I want to clean it, but the writing so I don't know what the label about cleaning it It's a cheap stuffed animal from one those claw machines.

Anyway, can stuffed animals go in the wash? What abut the dryer?

I'd say it can probably go in the wash (presuming it's a stuffed animal as in a top rather than a dead animal stuffer!). It'd probably be fine in the drier on the low setting or you could put it in an airing cupboard if you have access to one or maybe have it close to a radiator and dry out the outside with a hairdrier though this could take some time!

If in doubt, hand wash it in shampoo and then blow dry it on a low heat, to make it extra fluffy...I wouldn't risk the tumbler..

Do NOT get him wet unless it says you can on the label. Wipe all the sick off, then using a carpet shampoo wash him over and over again until he doesnt smell anymore. Following the instructions on the bottle as to how mix up up and apply it. Then to dry off the bear sit him out in the garden or in the airing cupboard.

i have had to clean my bears with carpet shampoo and they have come up well. You cant get them wet as it makes the stuffing so funny.

My toy dog went through the wash and dryer, an came out good as new (apart from this one stain, anyway), so I guess he was machine washable.

It usually says to surface wash them doesn't it? But when I was little I used to love washing my stuffed toys in the washing mashine and they always came out OK, maybe a little bit softer that's all. But I'd be careful if you don't want to ruin it. Kangaroo's idea sounds good though, washing him it with carpet shampoo. Aww I hope you manage to get it off!

id have a teddy since i was born and he's been in the washer and dryer hundreds of times and he's still just as good as new, the stuffing hasn't gone funny or soft or anything :)

I bet your bear is giving some evils.

My beloved Eeyore has been in the washing machine a few times (particularly after one DofE expedition when he got soaked and started to smell bad), and has always come out fine.

mine have always survived the wash :)

Mine has been round and round in both washer and dryer.
Makes them softer and fades them a little but thats all with mine.
Oh and mum always used to put mine in a pillow case and tie the top in a knot. apparently it helped.

If all else fails, pop it on a pitchfork and roast it over a bonfire

My mum popped mine in the washing machine all the time (before they met an unfortunate end...) But i wouldnt put them through the tumble dryer. It could be too hot for them and damage them.
