Supporter Information Thread - Applications Closed
Applications for Supporters have ended this time round. This thread is now being used to keep people updated until the decisions are finalised.
Hello all =)
The Supporters department are looking for new additions to the team. Some of you have already got in touch over the last couple of months but I wanted to give everyone a chance to apply.
If you want to be a supporter you should fulfill most of the following:
Active member of the community - someone who has been around for a while and shows passion and skill in Supporting others.
Someone with regular access to the site- the Supporter Department is a busy one as we strive to help members of the site the best we can, regualr internet access is important.
Genuine- Whislt being a Supporter can be the first step to other roles on the site, a member who wants to be a Supporter to help people and a member who wants to get on the ladder - are very distinguishable.
Maturity- There is no minimum age to become a Supporter, but a level of maturity to deal with the challenges a Supporter faces, is needed. This includes being trustworthy and relatively emotionally stable.
Team Player- On the team, we work together! It is important that members can work as part of a team - which includes sharing opinions and ideas to enhance what the team do.
Support- Quite obviously member need to be able to Support, which doesn't always mean give advice. There are different methods of Supporting; Fourm, E-mail and Live Help.
You don't need to have qualifications to be a Supporter - in fact, a Supporter is simply another member who has different ways of helping the community. As you can see, we aren't a different colour...very much still part of community.

Queen Fringe - that doesn't mean that you can't be in the future. It take a lot of strength to realise that now many not be the best time for you. However, by taking care of yourself it'll enhance your understanding of people and your ability to help.
Give it time and then we'd love to have you apply =)

I would love to be able to do it, what kinda time would it be set up if i was chosen as the next month/ 6 weeks or so are extremely busy for me and wont have the time to support people.
I would love to be one but I can only come on RYL while I'm at school so I wouldn't be able to at the moment. Maybe when I'm at uni in September where I won't have parents controlling my internet access!

For those who would love to be a supporter but for varying reasons aren't pming Chloe and I. Do remember that supporting on the forums is a fabulous way of supporting that can be done when you have the time and energy whether you are an 'official supporter' or not.

I'd love to be able to help in this way, but I don't feel I post enough, for a start, and I'm going to be away for a couple of months, not without internet access, but at limited times and stuffs, so maybe I'll be able to next time around or something.
